Yuliya's Translation Service
My name is Yuliya. I specialize in English-Ukrainian and Ukrainian-English translation (I am holder of master degree in translation studies of Ivan Franko National University of Lviv). For many years it has been of great interest for me to analyze English-Ukrainian translation of books for children and now I am more than delighted to put my knowledge into practice and begin translating literature for children.
The first object of my analysis was the popular book written by Roald Dahl under the title “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory”, I have investigated specific features of children literature which are of peculiar difficulty to be represented in the target language (in my case – Ukrainian).
The object of my diploma paper was the first two volumes of Artemis Fowl serie of books written by Eoin Colfer, where I mostly analyzed neologisms and speaking names.
